Guest speakers at Which Course Expo 2010

In a new departure for Which Course Expo, we have organised some guest speakers for this year's event...

Guest Speaker 1

Kieran Tobin graduated from The National University of Ireland, Galway, in 1966. He practiced as a consultant E.N.T. Surgeon at University College Hospital in Galway before retiring from the medical profession in 2004. He is now a full time painter.

Kieran always had an interest in art but had not studied it as a subject in school or afterwards. Twenty years ago, looking for a hobby as a way to combat stress, he began reading about art techniques. Very soon he began experimenting, got the 'bug', and took up painting seriously. Several solo exhibitions later he decided to take early retirement.

Kieran will talk about the importance of having hobbies and other interests in one’s life. He turned his hobby into another career after retiring from the highly stressful yet worthwhile vocation of a surgeon.

Guest Speaker 2

We are pleased to confirm that the inimitable Gerald Kean will appear as special guest speaker at Which Course Expo 2010. The renowned solicitor and 'celebrity bainisteoir' will be providing some inspirational words of advice to attending adult learners at this year's event on Sunday the 29th of August.

The following are just some of the areas that Gerald will be touching upon:

1 Running a successful business.
2 The importance of inter-personal relationships and communication skills.
3 The importance of being pro-active rather than re-active.
4 Focus and determination.
5 Some funny anecdotes from Gerald's own experiences.
6 The economy and the importance of applying with certain principles in order to be successful.
